A Stockport Town Hall Winter Wedding with a Fun Party Bus

Winter is coming, so it’s the perfect time to share this fun December wedding with you. Featuring a party bus, tinsel hats, dancing in a shower of confetti, and a pub pit stop!
Jayme and Jamie got married at Stockport Town Hall, a beautiful Grade II listed, Edwardian town hall in the centre of Stockport with a grand marble staircase. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and the epitome of ‘your wedding, your way!’
If you’re planning a wedding at Stockport Town Hall or a fun winter wedding, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!

The ceremony
They had a short and sweet registrar-led ceremony on the marble staircase surrounded by their closest family and friends. They opted out of decorating the space, instead letting the beauty of Stockport Town Hall speak for itself. During the ceremony, they had a reading from Jayme’s sister before they read their own vows. It was a lovely service with some nice personal touches.
After the ceremony, they headed upstairs for celebratory drinks in the beautiful Georgian hallway in Stockport Town Hall, before we spent a little time using a few different spaces inside and outside for some couples’ portraits.

Why Stockport Town Hall is a great place to get married
Stockport Town Hall is perfect for couples that want a laidback city centre wedding in a beautiful setting, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Stockport. The venue offers a variety of stunning spaces to get married – and there are so many beautiful spots that are perfect for photos.

The Celebration
The couple continued their celebrations by joining their friends and family on board a Routemaster bus that had been decorated with colourful streamers. Drinks, tinsel and fun festive hats were handed out as everyone boarded. They kept the fun going all the way to their first stop at the Red Lion pub in Cheadle, where the couple exited the bus to a shower of confetti. After an hour of drinks and live music, they hopped back on board the party bus and sang and danced their way to their final location, Hare & Kin in Didsbury. After some very fancy welcome cocktails, a few lovely speeches were made, and I said my goodbyes as they tucked into dinner.

The Couple
Jayme wore a feather trimmed suit made by her mum, and Jamie wore a Burgundy velvet suit. They both looked amazing, perfectly dressed for a December wedding.
