Creative Manchester Wedding Photographer – Best of 2018!

Is it just me who feels like 2018 was over in a flash? And what a year it was! In January a packed up my things and headed up north to start afresh in Manchester. I was terrified that leaving London was a bad decision and that I would spend at least a year struggling to make friends. Turns out I had nothing to fear! I’ve somehow managed to make a group of wonderful, craft loving, feminist friends. We even started our own community craft group called craft punk. If your Manchester based and you enjoy getting creative you should totally join! 2018 was also my first year as a full-time wedding photographer and although it was scary at first, I’ve really enjoyed being able to focus more of my time into doing what I love. I had a great summer of weddings, ironically shooting more London weddings than any other year! But I love a city wedding, so it was great photographing weddings in some amazing London pubs and restaurants. I ended up shooting four weddings at Hackney Town Hall, with the last one being the first wedding to take place in their beautiful, light-filled Atria. I’d walked past it so many times, so I was over the moon when I finally got to shoot there! I also shot my first destination wedding in a beautiful hotel overlooking the sea in St Georges Bay, Malta. It was incredibly hot and sweaty but so so much fun, with everything taking place outside, including the party, and everyone eventually cooling down in the pool!

In October I got to reconnect with some lovely photographers for SNAP Reunion in the Lake District. I recharged my batteries and got a little bit of inspiration too! I had a gorgeous styled shoot featured on Love My Dress and a beautiful, laid-back wedding featured on Mr and Mrs Unique. I also worked on an amazing shoot with The Urban Wedding Company and some incredibly talented North West based suppliers at Chetham’s Library which is being kept under wraps for now, but I’ll hopefully be able to share some images soon.

It’s pretty safe to say that 2018 was an amazing year filled with positive changes, awesome couples and packed dancefloors! 2019 is looking like it’s going to be a great year, with weddings already booked in some beautiful north west venues. I’m really looking forward to shooting a bit closer to home this year. I still have some availability for 2019 and my books are now open for 2020 so if your planning on throwing your own fun-filled wedding I’d love to hear from you!

So, here it is folks, all of the lovely little (and big!) moments of 2018’s weddings squeezed into one blog post. Check it out!
